The Payment Bridge is Now Freely Distibuted as Open Source Software Under the GNU General Public License
The Payment Bridge is released under the GNU General Public License. You can read about the Open Source Definition here.
If you make modifications that will benefit future users, please let us know so that we can share those features with others.
How Does the Payment Bridge Work?
Payment information is collected by the Payment Bridge Order Form.
This form is auto-generated using the list of products and their purchase
price as defined in the configuration file. When the order form is submitted,
the Payment Bridge scripts quickly and silently process the transaction
using AuthorizeNet's Payment Gateway OR Pay Pal and returns to the purchaser
a success or failure receipt based on the response from the payment system.
The payment bridge scripts will send you, the merchant, an email with order
details and will also alert you to failed and problem transactions.
AIM Payment Bridge acts as a "bridge" between the purchaser
and the Authorize.Net Payment Gateway (or Pay Pal) to process your orders.
The Payment Bridge uses the Advanced Integration Method (AIM), a direct
secure sockets layer (SSL) connection to the Payment Gateway and is AuthorizeNet's
recommended connection method. AIM is also referred to by AuthorizeNet as
ADC Direct Connection Method. It also dynamically creates your order
form for you! If you have a few products to sell, you can do it
quickly and easily with this script.
How Simple is the Payment Bridge to Install?
To install Payment Bridge:
1) place the files in a directory on your website.
2) define your products, file paths, and AuthorizeNet account information
in the "process_payment_config.php" text file.
3) set Payment Bridge and your AuthorizeNet Account to live mode
and you are ready to take orders.
It's that simple!
If you are looking for a simple method that requires nothing but a simple
setup of a configuration text file (list your products and specify your
preferences), then the AIM Payment Bridge is for you! If you are
a programmer looking to get your company up to speed with this secure payment
method, this script will save you the headaches and days of writing it yourself
(the raw PHP source code is provided to make customization a breeze).

Email Confirmations with Order Details
Additional Email Notifications for failed orders to prevent
fraud/chargeback (optional) |
Merchant (you) receives an email with
complete order details and buyer comments. Also, Authorizenet sends
the buyer an order confirmation for successful transactions.
If there is a problem with a transaction, you will recieve
an email. Not only will you get the order confirmation of a successful
purchase, you will also get an email for failed attempts (declined
cards, etc...). By keeping a closer eye on your order process, you
can prevent fraudulent orders from being processed as well as prevent
chargebacks that harm your merchant score. This feature
is quite helpful when you have someone trying repeatedely to use
a bad credit card or many different cards using the same credentials.
I have also used this option to discover that American
Express cards were being declined - even though I had successfully
applied to take American Express, Authorizenet forgot to turn the
feature on. |

System Requirements
An Authorize.Net merchant account
AND/OR PayPal Account With Instant Payment Notification enabled
Unix Website Hosting with SSL, PHP and Curl features
A secure site certificate that verifies your identity
There are three things you need to process credit cards:
1) a secure server (SSL - an encrypted way of taking personal information
securily) along with a site certificate [www.verisign.com or www.instantssl.com]
which verifies you are who you say you are. Most hosting
includes shared SSL, but you could also purchase your own site certificate.
2) a merchant account, such as Authorize.Net.
3) an order form and/or script that recieves the order information and communicates
securely with your merchant account Gateway to process the order and respond
with an approved or denied transaction message to your customer [Payment
Bridge].
AIM Payment Bridge is the perfect solution for companies
who have just a few products to sell and want to process credit cards using
their Authorize.Net merchant account.
Selling more than just a few products? Since all products and their descriptions
display on the Payment Bridge order form, the AIM Payment Bridge
is best suited for users with under 100 products. Even 100 products
is a lot for a buyer to scroll through! If you have more than 100 products,
we recommend OSCommerce Shopping Cart, a free shopping cart utility that
will have you taking orders faster than you can imagine.

Custom Script Modifications?
Sure we do! Not every product falls under the same rules. Contact us at sales@napersolutions.com if you need to hire someone to make modifications for you. Remember, the script is now offered under the GNU General Public License. You can modify it under these terms.
For example, we've written custom call back scripts for the World
Pay System including custom order pages, integrated with other ecommerce
software, and added SOAP communciations with the SecureAttachment PDF distribution
service. This ecommerce system saves orders and order attempts for tracking
in a MySql Database. This complete system helped automate each transaction
so the merchant could spend their time on other marketing activities.
Support
This is Open Source software. You are free to modify it any way, but you must keep the headers of the files and honor the GNU General Public License. We always attempt to answer any questions you might have, but our busy schedule sometimes prevents us from replying. Thank you for your understanding and patience.
